Looks like part of it was split when the initial hole was drilled to thread the leather strand through. Then patched together with some kind of glue. Additionally the horizontal piece of wood is such a different color of wood it looks mismatched. Will try to order another and see how that one turns out.

I have an 18 ct gold chain that goes beautifully with this cross. The string that came with the cross made it easy to toss for the gold chain.
i’m really happy with this necklace. although it’s not anything fancy, it’s what i wanted: a simple, plain wood cross. a couple things to note: mine came with a brown cord rather than a black one. also, the cord runs directly through the top of the cross (there is a hole drilled through it). neither of these matter to me, personally. thank you so much!

love the cross - do not like the necklace that came with it. wore it the day it came. i tied the necklace and the knot came loose... i noticed it came loose when i got home and i could have easily lost it... it was just hanging loose and was lucky it didn't fall fron me - any hints on how to tie the necklace so it does not come loose again??

Love the actual cross, I wish the cord was leather, and it is not like in the picture, no ring at the top but a hole in the cross.
